Absence

If you cannot attend work you need to ensure you contact your line manager by phone as soon as possible, or by 10am at the latest.

In emergency situations we do accept staff may need to stop working immediately. In these instances, you must leave a message and contact your line manager as soon as possible.

The following sections explain the different types of absence or leave and our policies on these:

• Sick leave - time off when you are sick, including medical appointments
• Time off for dependants - time off to look after dependants
• Compassionate leave - time off for bereavement
• Maternity, Paternity, Adoption and Surrogate Parents leave- time off when you have a baby
• Parental leave - planned time off to look after your child
